The Diocese of Vellore and Cambridgeshire RE
The Cambridgeshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education includes a recommended unit of materials answering the enquiry question "What is it like to be a Christian in Vellore?" The unit can be picked up here.
KS2 Vellore Unit
The unit was supported by a pack of materials called "Wannakam" (the traditional Tamil welcome greeting) which was sent to all primary schools. Most of the powerpoints and photographs are now on this website. The Wannakam materials will gradually be updated following the next visit of Cambridgeshire students to Vellore, but, meanwhile, if you would like to obtain one of the last CDs, or would like a speaker for your class who has been to Vellore, then do contact us.
There are also a limited number of materials, including acts of collective worship on Vellore at www.elyeducation.org/main/?page_id=46
Schools in other areas of the UK are welcome to use these materials to support teaching on Christianity as a World Faith.
